1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Coast FIRE Advisor, including its Coast FIRE Calculator feature (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

The Service is a financial planning tool that calculates retirement projections based on inputs you provide. It includes:

• A free calculator for Coast FIRE estimates
• A paid subscription for detailed PDF and XLSX reports

3. Subscription Terms

Pricing and Billing

• The subscription fee is $3.95 per month, billed monthly
• Payment is processed by Stripe; you must provide a valid payment method
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription portal
• To access the portal, use the "Manage Subscription" link on the calculator page or the link in any transactional email
• Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period
• No refunds are provided for partial months

Free Trial

We do not offer free trials. Your subscription begins immediately upon purchase and you will be charged at the start of each billing period.

4. Account Security

• Upon subscribing, your account is linked to your email address for authentication
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately
• We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from your failure to protect your account

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with others or use one account for multiple users
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Use automated systems to abuse the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Resell or redistribute reports generated by the Service

6. Financial Disclaimer

• We are not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner
• Projections are hypothetical and based on assumptions you provide
• Actual investment returns vary and may be significantly different from projections
• The calculator does not account for taxes, fees, Social Security, pensions, market volatility, sequence-of-returns risk, or individual circumstances
• Past performance does not guarantee future results
• You should consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions

The "Advisor Workbook" XLSX export is a tool for personal use or discussion with your financial advisor—it does not constitute professional advice from us.

The name "Coast FIRE Advisor" and the term "Advisor Workbook" use "advisor" in the educational sense—describing a tool that explains Coast FIRE concepts, not a service that provides personalized financial guidance. We are not licensed financial advisors, investment advisors, or fiduciaries, and no advisor-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Hancock Financial Tools and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may use reports generated by the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may share reports with your financial advisor for planning purposes.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANCOCK FINANCIAL TOOLS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, savings, or investment returns
• Financial losses resulting from reliance on projections
• Loss of data or unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or errors

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hancock Financial Tools from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

• Your account access will be revoked
• You will lose access to paid features
• No refund will be provided for the current billing period

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Security Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hancock Financial Tools regarding your use of the Service.
